LSU Softball SEC Tournament Game vs. Tennessee postponed due to weather conditions

LSU softball was scheduled to begin the second full day of the SEC Softball Tournament against Tennessee on Thursday morning, but the Tigers and Volunteers will have to wait. Despite originally being scheduled for a first pitch at 10 a.m. CT, the SEC announced Thursday’s game has been postponed due to rain in Auburn.

LSU will get some much needed rest ahead of Thursday’s game. The Tigers outlasted Alabama in an instant classic, with Taylor Pleasants leaving the longest innings game in SEC Tournament history with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 14th.

Tennessee earned a first-round bye thanks to its 19-5 conference record, good enough to claim the top seed in the tournament. The Tigers traveled to Knoxville in late April to take on the Volunteers, but dropped two of the three games. Tennessee won Friday and Sunday’s games, both 3-0. LSU was able to win the Saturday game to avoid a sweep and survived 1-0.
