Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s batting performance threatens bowlers’ careers, says Mohammad Kaif

Former batsman and commentator Mohammad Kaif last night praised Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head for their ‘career-ending’ batting performance. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have intimidated opposition bowlers throughout the IPL 2024 season.

This time they decided to break up the bowling unit of Lucknow Super Giants in front of their fans at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. They put together a partnership of 167 runs to guide their franchise to a win by 10 wickets in 9.4 overs.

Mohammad Kaif while reviewing the game revealed that SRH has adopted Australia’s ‘never die’ mentality after the inclusion of two Australian world champions, Pat Cummins and Travis Head, in the team.

“Pat Cummins and Travis Head are both from Australia. That is the Australian intention. I remember the World Cup final between Australia and India in 2003. The sky was cloudy. We won the toss and (Sourav) Ganguly predicted that the ball would swing and so we would win the game. But Australia had other plans and scored 360 points,” he stated.

Kaif added that Head and Sharma’s explosive batting style has threatened the careers of bowlers

“This is not the first time this has happened. We have seen in this IPL that bowlers are unable to stop these two batters. Their explosive batting can kill a bowler’s career,” Kaif added.

Kaif also warned SRH’s future opponents to take note of their performance.

“In today’s match I think there was an extra test. If it’s a ‘do or die’ game, SRH ups the ante. They made a statement to their future opponents. GT will take on SRH next. So be prepared,” Kaif concluded.
