Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas unfollowed each other on Instagram after announcing their split

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas and Spain’s Paula Badosa have unfollowed each other on Instagram after announcing their split. The former couple was one of the best known in the tennis world and had a separate fan base.

On Sunday, Badosa announced on social media that after much deliberation, both tennis stars have decided to go their ‘own ways’. “After careful consideration and many cherished moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways,” she wrote. “We have shared a journey full of love and learning experiences, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to continue on our own paths. We are grateful for the support of our friends, family and everyone who has been part of our story.”

Both tennis stars had a rough time on the court during their relationship, which seemingly played a role in their decision to part ways as the year 2023 didn’t prove to be a good year for either of them. Tsitsipas struggled for form, especially in the second half of the season, where he was knocked out in the fourth round at Wimbledon and in the second round at the US Open. On the other hand, Badosa struggled with injuries throughout 2023, participating in only one of the four Grand Slams.

Remember when Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Davidovich Fokina in 2022 and won back-to-back Masters 1000 titles in Monte Carlo! 👏
