Trinity will play for the Kentucky high school lacrosse state championship

Trinity High School is back in the state finals of the Kentucky Scholastic Lacrosse League after defeating five-time defending state champion St. Xavier 11-5 in Wednesday’s first KSLL boys semifinal in Trinity. The Shamrocks were led by senior Charlie Horner, who scored three goals in the win.

Trinity will face the winner of the Kentucky Country Day-South Oldham semifinal Saturday at 11 a.m. It will be the fifth title game for the Shamrocks in the past six seasons, after losing 13-6 to St.

After knocking off the Tigers – who have won 16 state championships, including the last five – Trinity has a chance to win its seventh state title at home on Saturday.

Next season, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association will begin sponsoring the state lacrosse championships.
