Wirt County Sideliners Golf Scramble

The Wirt County Sideliners and the Wirt County High School football team will hold their annual golf match June 1 at the Mingo Bottom Golf Course.

Tee times start at 9am, $200 per team, there are cash prizes for first, $400, second, $200 and third place, $100, 50/50 and prizes closest to the pin. We also have a $5,000 hole-in-one prize on the #10 Par 3 hole and some really nice hole-in-one prizes on all other par 3 holes. Food and drinks are provided. Please register in advance if possible.

MOVTA holds monthly meeting

The Mid-Ohio Valley Tennis Association (MOVTA) will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, May 13th at 6:00 PM at Panera Bread. We discuss the updated plans for spring and summer activities. Anyone interested in tennis is very welcome.


MOVTA Spring Fling Tennis Tournament

The 2024 MOVTA Spring Fling tennis tournament will be held from May 18 to 19. You can already play on Saturday, May 18 at 9:00 am

Game times are available by calling Mike Politz at 304-588-0809 after 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 16.

The location is the tennis courts of Jackson Park in Vienna. The format is round-robin play in time blocks of approximately two hours. The competition format varies depending on the number of players in each age group/event. Players can play in multiple events.

The events are 10-14 boys’ singles, girls’ singles and doubles/15-18 boys’ singles, girls’ singles and doubles/and mixed doubles. All singles events cost $15 and all doubles events cost $15 per individual, per event (i.e. $30 per team). In order to register for the tournament, the entry forms must be received and/or postmarked before Tuesday, May 14. Entries and payment by post to: MOVTA, PO Box 5183, Vienna, WV 26105. Photos or scans of entries can also be emailed to [email protected], with fees paid during the tournament. The entry form is on the Mid Ohio Valley Tennis Association Facebook page and forms are available at the Wood County Rec Office in the city park.
