On the first ball of the third over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled it with a standing seam, on a hard length and on the mid-leg line. Quinton de Kock freed his front leg and seemed to go big behind on the leg side. He played his favorite pick-up shot but couldn’t get the height he wanted as he ended up hitting the ball flat towards deep back square leg.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, stationed in the deep, timed his jump to perfection and tossed the ball into the air as his momentum seemed to carry him past the fence. He came back onto the field and completed the catch.

In the match between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, Sanju Samson was dismissed in dramatic circumstances when Shai Hope took a screaming catch at long-on, steadying himself just millimeters short of the boundary ropes off Mukesh Kumar.

Third referee Michael Gough checked a number of corners without finding evidence of Hope’s boots coming into contact with the boundary rope, with the decision given as ‘out’. Samson had started to walk back after watching the replays, but when he saw ‘OUT’ flashing on the screen, he walked up to the referees in protest and even tried to get a review, but it was in vain.

Samson was later fined 30 percent of his match fee for a Level 1 offense under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which talks about showing dissent from a decision by the umpires.
