Whoop-Up Days will return to paid access in 2024

Whoop-Up Days returns to paid access this year. The Lethbridge and District Exhibition has announced this year’s schedule, featuring familiar and new attractions from August 20 to 24.

Pro Rodeo returns August 22-24, along with the Siksikaitsitapi Princess Pageant on August 20 and Powwow August 21-22. There will also be live music all five days with local Alberta artists and headlining performances from Emerson Drive, Big Sugar and Kyle McKearney.

“For decades, Whoop-Up Days has brought the Lethbridge and Southern Alberta community together in celebration, and we know the same will happen this year,” said Kim Gallucci, acting CEO of Lethbridge and District Exhibition. “Our team is focused on providing a great guest experience and building entertainment that will excite people of all ages. The countdown has begun towards this incredible event.”

This year, tickets are $15 for adults at the gate or $10 in advance. Seniors get admission for $13 or $8 if they purchase in advance. Children up to 12 years old have free admission. The Lethbridge and District Exhibition has introduced a program called Free ‘Til 3, which is sponsored by Gas King. From August 20 to 22, everyone has free access to the site from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

“With these changes, we are building a sustainable experience for this community to ensure Whoop-Up Days remains a staple for generations to come,” said Gallucci. “We would like to thank Gas King for supporting our vision and creating the Free ‘Til 3 initiative, which ensures that everyone can enjoy Whoop-Up Days.”

The Wildlife Festival also returns this year, along with the Extreme Dogs Show and marketplace.

Tickets for the event are now on sale and can be purchased online.
