Lucknow Super Giants owner loses his cool towards captain KL Rahul and gives him a proper scolding

Lucknow Super Giants were just in some of the matches of the Indian Premier League 2024. The last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad was by far the worst of the 17th season for the top franchise. Sanjiv Goenka, owner of the Lucknow team, gave a proper scolding to captain KL Rahul.

In a viral video, the owner can be seen angrily targeting the leadoff hitter. Sanjiv pointed out something he didn’t like in the match. Rahul had no choice but to listen to him quietly as he was having a bad day at the office.

The loss of 10 wickets has not only impacted their net run-rate but has also pushed them into a corner in the play-off race. LSG will have to win the remaining two matches to have a chance of participating in the next round.

With twelve points from twelve matches, Lucknow is not assured of a place in the play-offs.

Rahul won the toss and chose to bat first on a track that looked slow. Rahul and Krunal Pandya added 27 runs in the powerplay overs after losing Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis.

Despite late batting from Ayush Badoni (55) and Marcus Stoinis (48), the Giants managed just 165/4 in 20 overs.

Travis Head (89 not out) and Abhishek Sharma (75 not out) took the team to a win in 9.4 overs.
