Huddersfield Giants secure talented striker

Huddersfield Giants have announced that Sam Hewitt has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Hewitt has signed a contract until the end of the 2027 season and will receive the number twelve shirt for the first time in 2024.

The forward made his debut in a draw against Leeds Rhinos at the John Smith’s Stadium in 2018, and scored his first try in a defeat to Wigan a year later in 2019.

He was loaned out to Workington Town, Halifax Panthers and Wakefield Trinity before making 14 appearances for the Huddersfield Giants in 2023.

He has since become a key member of Ian Watson’s squad, only dropping out of the team after suffering a serious injury in training.

He is expected to be sidelined again in the coming weeks.

They have already secured the services of young talents Sam Halsall and Harry Rushton for the future, and will be pleased to have another man in the side for years to come.
